survivor recap, & then there were 6
So, this episode was all-Sash, allthetime. I realized, however, then when he’s not with Brenda, I actually like loooove him! I think he is fabulous and I think he is SUPERsmart.
The problem with this season and that all the players are very lackluster in terms of strategy. Most of the people are just willing to go along with whatever someone else says, as long as it isn’t them.
I like that Sash was very well-aware of his position as the swing-vote and also the bottom of the totem pole no matter which alliance he goes with. However, it’s not necessarily true because the two alliances are Benry-Fabio-Dan and Chase-Holly-Jane.
Of courrsee Fabio and Benry would want to go with Dan because Dan couldn’t win against NaOnka. Honestly. He could win against NOONE. But Holly and Chase would be stupid to go with Jane to the finals, so he has a better shot with them.
Chase seemed sincere in his conversation with Sash that he would take Holly & Sash on reward, only to see the reward challenge which Chase won (and BOYYY did he win it!!!) and then he took Holly and Jane. WTF. At least Sash, Chase and Holly all seemed to realize immediately what a stupid move this was.
But, Sash still wasn’t sold on the trio of mediocrity that is Fabio-Benry-Dan, so even though he strategized with them, ultimiately he seemed like he was gonna stick with CHJ. Also, what was up with Dan’s tone towards Sash? Obviously you should be sucking up to the swing vote, not berating him. Obviously ol’ Dannyboy has not been chatting it up with any survivors bc he has absolutely no idea how to play this game.
CHJ came back and Jane criiied over dead chickens and then they made up with Sash. Whew. But I’m realizing that Sash is quite brainy, so he’s not gonna go with the dummies.
The immunity challenge involved throwing themselves over and under and board to get rope and then coins to complete a puzzle. Only the first 3 to the coins could move on. I’m glad it was Fabio Sash and Benry because Fabio + Benry’s looks of utter confusion were priceless. Who else thinks they reedited that footage to make it look like a close race? Considering how slowly Sash closed the box I am gonna guess that it was not close, in the least.
Now here comes last minute scrambling! Or not. Because apparently in Survivor:Nicaragua it’s better to sit back and chill and not let people think you’re worried, á la Brenda and now Fabio. Um. what??? I have to admit that I felt kind of bad for Benry that his “alliance” crumbled and he was that quick to throw Fabio under the bus. What was the point???? They told you they were voting Fabio. Ok, they have the numbers. But what does it benefit you to turn on Fabio? You told Fabio you were voting Holly, which you still could have done if your only concern was not getting voted out? Now you turned on Fabio and if he had been voted off you probably would not have gotten his vote IF by some miracle you made it to the finals. WTF.
So Benry got blindsided (“Yea I feel pretty safe” … has anyone EVER said that and NOT been voted out????) and I actually felt bad for him. He looked like a sad sad puppy. I’m sorry for Dan and Fabio that you are that dummy that you cut your own foot off or whatever that phrase is.
TWO MORE EPISODES!!! I am rooting for Sash now. Chase is dum dummy and makes waay too many bad decisions. Holly is OK. Jane is good in the sense that she’s “Survivor Macgyver” but she only has that going for her. She hasn’t really strategized. Dan – don’t make me laugh; Fabio – there is absolutely no way he’s making it to the end.
So, this season is pretty blah but it always gets more interesting when there’s 6-7 people left!
until next week!
xoxo

I’m about as mature as a 14 year old anyways
Why I love Young Adult (YA) Fiction.
I think the reason I love it so much is that I HATE extraneous details when I’m reading a book. It doesn’t help me picture it any better. When the author adds in 3 pages of description to tell me about a tree root or something else that it is symbolically representative of something else, sorry but I just ain’t feeling it. I like young adult fiction because it gives me enough information for me to picture it but not so much that I want to skip entire paragraphs (helloooo Lord of the Rings).
So sue me, but I’m not interested in reading for some greater good to mankind. I’m not into reading books that make me feel/look holier-than-thou. I’m interested in reading to be entertained. Sometimes I learn something (Like a spell to disarm an enemy or that vampires don’t melt in the sunlight, they sparkle – obviii, duh!). But mostly, I read to be entertained.
Loving to read is also an affliction of the impatient, donchaknow (insert midwestern accent). I watch TV to be entertained, I read to be entertained. The upside of reading is that you can read straight through to the finale and you don’t have to wait weeks and weeks to find out what happened. The downside is if you start reading a book that is part of a series before the author has finished writing the series, then the impatience sets in again. However, it does offer prime opportunity to reread your favorites (hellooo Harry Potter!) before the final book comes out.
A problem I encounter with reading books is that I literally become so obsessed engrossed in books that I’m reading that I can’t function as a adult in real world. I stay up late r e a d i n g. I don’t go out with my friends because i’m r e a d i n g. I neglect my work duties because I’m r e a d i n g. It’s a real problem.
That being said, I would like to recommend all the YA Fiction books that are on my “I read” tab. I just finished reading The Uglies triology and I was obsessed. Life goal = to write a YA fiction novel. I just need that ONE idea that sets me apart! Don’t worry, I’m thinking on it!
Please comment if you have recommendations! I’m afraid Amazon.com isn’t cuttin’ it anymore!

Wow!
For three boys from the Tokelau Islands the word miracle has a whole new meaning.
After going missing following a sporting event in October, and after several unsuccessful searches by New Zealand’s air force, they were presumed dead. About 500 people on the island held a memorial service for them.
But for Samuel Perez and Filo Filo, both 15, and Edward Nasau, 14, this story ended in the most unbelievable way – being rescued by a tuna ship near Fiji after 50 days at sea, according to Radio New Zealand.
Since October 5, the three survived with limited supply. They shared a single raw seagull and drank a tiny bit of rainwater. They eventually resorted to drinking small amounts of sea water, Australia’s Herald Sun reported.
On Wednesday afternoon, their saga finally came to an end when the tuna boat, the San Nikunau, saw their small aluminum boat floating in the middle of open waters. They were and 807 miles (1,300 km) away from where they went missing.
‘We got to them in a miracle,” the first mate, Tai Fredricsen, told the Sydney Morning Herald.
“They were in reasonably good spirits for how long they’d been adrift,” Fredricsen told the Herald Sun. “They were very badly sunburnt. They were in the open during the day up in the tropics there. But really they just needed basic first aid.”
Call it a miracle, or call it luck, but for these boys, it was a rescue that might not have happened if not for chance.
The tuna boat was fishing far from where it usually does, the crew told the Herald Sun. It was taking a shortcut home to New Zealand when it stumbled upon the boys.
The boys were being checked at a hospital but were ecstatic to finally be able to speak by phone to their families.
“They’ve got a lot of gusto, a lot of strong mental spirit,” Fredricsen told the Morning Herald. “Physically they are very [distraught] but mentally they are very strong.”
